Dioscuri Centre for Chromatin Biology and Epigenomics at the Nencki Institute of Experimental Biology, Polish Academy of Sciences in Warsaw,

is seeking a highly motivated postdoctoral candidate to work at the interface of stem cell biology, epigenomics, and bioinformatics.

Requirements:

Candidates should hold a PhD in molecular biology or genetics. We require independence and excellent work organization skills, a creative approach to research problems, team collaboration skills and motivation. Experience in laboratory work is necessary.

ATP, the energy currency in the living world, is present in extremely high concentration in the cell. Remarkably, ATP can also act as a solvent able to disrupt protein aggregates. We have shown in the past that reduction of ATP in the cell leads to the emergence of chromatin loops connecting specific pairs of active regulatory elements including promoters and enhancers. In this interdisciplinary project, we will bridge high throughput genomics and genome editing technologies and computational tools to determine the role of ATP in regulating promoter-enhancer dialogue.

Scope of tasks:

The postdoctoral investigator will take advantage of cutting-edge molecular and cell biology techniques, including ChIP-seq, RNA-seq, Hi-C, CRISPR-Cas9 and confocal microscopy to assess the impact of ATP on the interactions between cis-regulatory elements. The successful candidate will also have the opportunity to expand skills in the field of bioinformatics and quantitative biology.

• duration of contract: 6 months with possible extension up to 60 months (5 years),
