Mgr Monika Riegel from the Laboratory of Brain Imaging lead by dr hab. Artur Marchewka has become a laureate of the 5th edition of "Mobility Plus" program financed by the Polish Ministry of Science and Higher Education. 

The main goal of the program is supporting international mobility of young scientists and giving them opportunity to do research in the most prestigious research centers under supervision of distinguished scientists.

The project proposed by mgr Monika Riegel concerns the brain mechanisms of prospective influence of emotion on memory. The scientific goal of the project is answering a question of how the state of emotional arousal influences future encoding and retrieval of neutral associations. The study will be conducted with the use of fMRI.

The laureate has received a funding to realize the postdoctoral project at New York University, under the supervision of prof. Lila Davachi (24 months, starting from October 2018).
