Nencki Institute Leads a Euro-BioImaging Node

On December 8, 2015 the chairman of the interim board of Euro-BioImaging (EuBI), Prof. Benjamin Geiger of the Weizmann Institute, officially announced the results of the ratification of EuBI research Nodes and Hub. Among them, unanimous approval was given to the Polish node project: Advanced Light Microscopy Node Poland. It is coordinated by the Nencki Institute in collaboration with the Mossakowski Institute of the Polish Academy of Science and the Faculty of Biochemistry, Biophysics and Biotechnology of the Jagiellonian University. It constitutes one of the 28 initial research sites that are forming this European infrastructure. In parallel to the nodes, the board also selected the so-called Hub, the central governance and headquarters of the future infrastructure. The accepted project is tripartite, with the headquarters located in Turku (Finland), with auxiliary sites at the EMBL and Turin (for biological and medical imaging, respectively).
