Prof. Agnieszka Dobrzyń received the Minister of Science and Higher Education award for scientific achievements

Prof. dr hab. Agnieszka Dobrzyń, a head of the Laboratory of Cell Signaling and Metabolic Disorders of the Nencki Institute, received an Award for Outstanding Scientific Achievements granted by the Minister of Science and Higher Education. Her scientific interest is focused on signaling pathways and molecular mechanisms of regulation of  gene expression involved in pathogenesis of type 2 diabetes. Prof. Dobrzyń is a coauthor of 70 scientific publications (cited over 2,300 times, H=26), book chapters and international patents. A team led by prof. Dobrzyn revealed new mechanisms of regulation of insulin secretion and autophagy in pancreatic beta cells, and developed a method for the early diagnosis of a pre-diabetic state and type 2 diabetes.
