The National Science Centre Grant’s for the Nencki Institute

The National Science Centre has published ranking lists of projects which have qualified for financial backing within the limits of the competitions announced by the NSC on 15th March, 2015. Scientists from the Nencki Institute received financial backing for the 23 research projects they worked on in OPUS7, PRELUDIUM6 and SONATA7 competitions.

 

OPUS - Competition for research projects, which included financing the purchase or production of research equipment necessary for the implementation of these projects

dr hab. Jakub Włodarczyk - “Dynamic Synapse” - the role of cell adhesion molecules turnover in dendritic spine maturation.

dr Tomasz Jaworski - Structural plasticity of dendritic spines in learning and memory.

dr hab. Paweł Pomorski - Extracellular nucleotide gradients as regulators of glioma cell motility.           

prof. dr hab. Ewa Sikora - The significance of cell senescence and polyploidy in the life cycle of cancer; in vitro studies.

prof. dr hab. Małgorzata Kossut – Chemo-genetic investigation of the role of inhibitory interneurons containing somatostatin in cerebral cortex plasticity. 

dr Monika Pawłowska - Mapping positive and negative memories in the brain.    

dr Joanna Dzwonek - The functional role of astroglial cd44 in seizure-induced aberrant synaptic plasticity.

dr hab. Ruzanna Djavadian - Molecular machanisms of Purkinje cells development in the opossum. Creation of transgenic opossum.

prof. dr hab. Elżbieta Szeląg - How to increase the mental fitness in elderly adults: cognitive training or physical exercise.

prof. dr hab. Daniel Wójcik - Localization of epilepsy sources from clinical multimodal data using kernel methods
