“Art and Science” in Mikolajki

On September 17th, 2017, at the Nencki Institute Hydrobiological Station in Mikołajki, the "Art and Science" Symposium entitled "BIOIMAGINE: INSPIRATION BY INVISIBLE WORLD?" was held. The meeting, to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the Institute, was aimed at finding new artistic inspirations based on microscopic imaging of cellular structures and aquatic microorganisms. As well as lectures there were also  laboratory presentations. The organizers of the Symposium, apart from the Nencki Institute PAS, are The Faculty of Art of the University of Rzeszow and The Faculty of Art of the University of Warmia and Mazury in Olsztyn. Symposium sponsors include: Polish Biochemical Society, The Association of Polish Artists (Rzeszow district) and Olympus Poland. During the next few days at the Hydrobiological Station there were painting workshops in which artists from listed universities took part. The exhibition of the completed works is planned for January 2018 at the Nencki Institute in Warsaw.
