Final meeting of the BIO-IMAGINE International Advisory Board (IAB) and the External Evaluators panel at the Nencki Institute

On 21-22 October 2014  the final meeting of the BIO-IMAGINE Project International Advisory Board and the External Evaluators appointed by the European Commission to assess the results of the Project was held at the Nencki Institute. The meeting was attended by five members of the International Advisory Board: Prof. Richard Frackowiak from UNIL-CHUV in Lausanne (Switzerland), Prof. Daniela Corda from Consorzio Mario Negri Sud in Italy, Prof. Jacek Kuznicki – Director of the International Institute of Molecular and Cell Biology in Warsaw, Mrs. Anna Wisniewska from the EU Framework Programmes National Contact Point in Poland and Prof. Jerzy Duszyński from the Nencki Institute, as well as three Independent Experts appointed by the European Commission to assess the BIO-IMAGINE Project: Prof. Ana Stavljenic-Rukavina from Croatia, Prof. Joaquin Guinea from Spain and Dr Orfeu Flores from Portugal.

During the two-day meeting the members of the IAB and the Evaluating Experts were presented  with the report on the project activities and results by the Project Coordinator, Prof. Adam Szewczyk, and the BIO-IMAGINE Work Package Leaders. After hearing the reports the IAB members presented the conclusions of the Board on the implementation of the project and its impact on the research potential of the Nencki Institute, together with a number of recommendations regarding the research strategy of the Nencki Institute. Independent Experts evaluating the Project presented the preliminary assumptions of their report to be developed for the European Commission.
